Are you interested in earning extra cash online but don't really want to put a lot of effort into it? I know the feeling. There are so many ways to earn online, and some do actually work, but a lot of them require mind-numbingly long hours spent at the computer. Which is completely fine if you have the time, but if you are just wanting to make a couple dollars a day without having a huge drain on your time then this article will help!
There are a lot of things you already do online or on your phone that you can actually get paid for doing. One of those things is searching the internet. This is a very simple way to earn some extra cash because the vast majority of you are already searching! There are quite a few methods out there that will allow you to start getting paid to search the web. I gave several of them a try and here are the top 5 that I found:
5 Ways to Get Paid to Search the Web
1. Qmee
Earning Potential: $0.05 - $1.00 per rewarded search.
Qmee is a browser extension that will reward you for searching on Google, Amazon, EBay, Yahoo or Bing. It is one of the easiest ways to get paid while searching because you don't have to do anything different. When you are browsing on the sites mentioned above, a Qmee result will sometimes appear next to the search results. These results will award you anywhere from a few cents to a dollar just for clicking on them. The Qmee extension is compatible with Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux operating systems. It is currently available on the following browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Internet Explorer. Qmee is available for users in USA and the UK.
2. Bing Rewards
Earning Potential: Average $0.30 a day.
Bing Rewards is a program that pays you to perform searches on Bing. There is a daily amount of credits you can earn using Bing Rewards. You can earn 1 credit for every two searches (up to 15 credits a day) from your computer and up to 10 credits a day by searching Bing with your phone. There are also other daily rewards for things like trivia, viewing an article, or for checking your Bing Rewards dashboard on Microsoft Edge. On average, you'll get around 30 credits a day if you complete everything (it takes about 5 minutes). Credits can be redeemed for Amazon, Starbucks, and other gift cards. You can also use the credits to pay for Xbox Live and Hulu memberships.
3. Swagbucks
Earning Potential: Average $0.03-$0.39 per rewarded search.
Swagbucks is a rewards website that allows you to earn extra cash in multiple ways. One of the ways you can earn on Swagbucks is searching the web using the Swagbucks search engine (powered by Yahoo). When you are rewarded for a search you will receive Swagbucks which can be redeemed for Paypal and hundreds of different gift cards. In the US, each Swagbuck is the equivalent of one cent. The rewards will happen randomly while you are searching and the amount of Swagbucks you receive will vary. The highest I've had so far was 39. You can receive multiple Swagbucks rewards for searching throughout the day, and there is no maximum amount you can earn.
4. InstaGC
Earning Potential: Average $0.05 per rewarded search.
InstaGC is a website where you can perform a variety of tasks and earn points that can be redeemed for instant gift cards or cash. Each point you earn on InstaGC is the equivalent of one cent. One of the multiple ways to earn on InstaGC is searching the web using the search engine on their website. The rewarded amount for searching varies, but is usually around 5 points. You won't be rewarded for every search you make, it will happen randomly, but if you make a couple of searches you'll usually get a rewarded result. You can use the InstaGC search engine as much as you want with no maximum on earnings, but if you just rapidly search random terms you risk getting banned.
5. GiftHulk
Earning Potential: $0.004 per search per hour.
GiftHulk is another site where you can earn cash and gift cards for searching the web. You can also earn on GiftHulk by completing tasks, offers, surveys, and watching videos. GiftHulk's search engine uses Bing and Yahoo results, and you will be rewarded for 1 search every hour. Each hour you can receive 4 Hulk Coins for searching which is less than half a cent, but its guaranteed (not random) and there are a few other easy daily activities you can complete on GiftHulk as well.
Bonus - BrowseU
Earning Potential: $500.00 - $2,000.00 towards student loans.
This one is included as a bonus because it is a little different than the others. BrowseU is a search engine that generates ad revenue but instead of keeping the revenue to themselves, they use it to help members pay their student loans! BrowseU helps their members one at a time, in the order they signed up, by making a $500.00-$2,000.00 payment on their student loans. When you use the BrowseU search engine, the generated revenue goes to the current person in the front of the line. Once their payment has been issued, the revenue starts going towards the next person. Just using the BrowseU search engine a few times a day can greatly help increase the amount of money they can raise towards everyone's student loans. You could even make BrowseU your default search engine! If you have student loans, it is definitely worth signing up for this opportunity!
