If you are looking for ways to earn extra money online with little effort, Qmee is a great option! Qmee is a browser extension that rewards you for searching the web. After you sign up for Qmee and perform a search on Google, Amazon, EBay, Yahoo or Bing, a Qmee result will sometimes appear next to the search results. These results will award you anywhere from a few cents to a dollar for clicking on them. When you consider how many times a day you search the web, or browse Amazon to find new cat toys, it is a pretty neat idea that you could earn extra money for something you already do everyday!
How to sign up for Qmee
Qmee is available for users in USA and the UK.
To start using Qmee, just head over to their website and sign up.
The Qmee extension is compatible with Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux operating systems. It is currently available on the following browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Internet Explorer.
For those weary about installing a browser extension, Qmee states:
We take your security and privacy very seriously. We encrypt all communications so that no-one can listen in. We encrypt your password on our servers so that it cannot be read by anyone it shouldn't be. We don't share your data with anyone else without your permission. By using Paypal to cash out your rewards we don't hold any of your financial information.
Read The Qmee Promise: Privacy for more information about their privacy policy. They even make their code available so you can see exactly what it does.
How to use Qmee
After you have signed up and installed the Qmee extension, test it out by typing "Qmee" in Google, Amazon, EBay, Yahoo or Bing. If everything is working correctly, you will see a Qmee sidebar appear next to the search results similar to this screenshot:
This is where a Qmee result will appear while you are making regular searches. The result will also have a value attached which indicates how much you will earn for clicking the result. The value usually ranges from a few cents to a dollar. Some searches may even generate multiple results. Your normal search results do not change, the only difference you will notice is the sidebar that appears every so often. You will not see a Qmee result with every search you make, but one will appear if Qmee considers it relevant to the search.
Qmee Helpful Tips
- Tip 1 - Just browse like you normally would.
- I know it is really tempting to just go nuts when you first install Qmee and search the crap out of everything. Unfortunately doing this can hurt your chances of getting a rewarded result. If the extension notices an unusual pattern of searching, it will stop giving results for a few days until your searching goes back to a normal pattern.
- Tip 2 - When you click a rewarded result, keep the page open for at least 30 seconds.
- It has been noted that quickly clicking and exiting a result will cause you to receive less results in the future. If you accidentally do this, don't worry, the results will go back to normal in a few days.
- Tip 3 - Use the back button to redeem multiple results.
- Some searches will have multiple results that have a value attached. To redeem these, click on the first one like you normally would, keep the page open for 30 seconds, then click the back button to get the next. Sometimes it won't let you get all of them, and you'll only get like 3/4 of the results, but that's still good. You can even try this trick with single result searches and sometimes you'll get another one when you hit the back button.
- Tip 4 - Check out the Qmee subreddit.
- Every week there is a new Rewarded Results thread where people post Qmee search terms and keywords that worked for them. Try out a few and see if they work for you. Also, if you get a rewarded result for something you searched, you can share it with others so they can earn too!
How to Redeem Your Qmee Earnings
As you browse the web and click on Qmee results, you will accumulate earnings in your piggy bank. You can view your piggy bank balance by clicking the Qmee extension icon in your browser or by going to
Qmee's website.
You can redeem your earnings through Paypal or a gift card. You can also choose to donate your earnings to charity. Currently, the two options for charity donation are: American Red Cross and Intrepid Fallen Heroes.
It does not appear that there is a minimum payout with Paypal (let me know if I'm wrong) and you will usually receive an email about the deposit right after you redeem.
To redeem a gift card, you must first cash out to Paypal at least once just to verify your identity.
Is Qmee Worth Using?
I was skeptical of Qmee at first because I am nervous about anything that requires a browser extension. But, Qmee is very open about their privacy policy and after reviewing everything, including the code, I feel comfortable using it. The biggest mistake I made when I first started using Qmee was going into it with the mindset of SEARCH EVERYTHING POSSIBLE!! Yea, I didn't get anything for like a week. Now that I learned to just let it happen, I get 2-3 rewarded results a day, and my piggy bank balance has been filling up much faster.
Overall, I would
definitely recommend Qmee because pretty much
everyone searches the web. We all love shopping on Amazon. I even get a few rewarded results while doing my daily Bing searches for the Bing Rewards program. Using Qmee is an awesome way to earn extra cash with very little effort.
