Acorn Hunt Review - Apps that Pay You
While searching for new apps to try, I came across Acorn Hunt. Acorn Hunt is an app that provides many different ways to earn extra money with your phone. You can earn money for checking in daily, downloading apps, completing tasks in offer walls, checking into a store, or performing a job in a store. Note: For Android users, Acorn Hunt is called Rewardable on Google Play. It is the same app and same company, just listed under a different name for whatever reason.

How to Use Acorn Hunt

Acorn Hunt App Review
When you first open the app there are a few quick tasks to complete. They are mostly simple demographic questions that will earn you a few cents. The screenshot on the left shows an example of the home screen you will see when you open Acorn Hunt.

The home screen consists of a few different offer walls. Most of the tasks here are for downloading apps but there are others for watching videos and completing the typical tasks you would see on an offer wall.

Every day there is a "Daily Pulse" that appears in the home screen. The Daily Pulse is just a quick two question survey that takes maybe 10 seconds.

You can also watch videos for acorns but I don't really see the video watching as being worth it. You can't watch the videos passively and they don't earn enough to sit there tapping play. There are definitely much better apps out there if you want to earn money watching videos.

When you click on one of these offers it will direct you to the app store and you will be credited once you install and run the app. Some of the offers may require you to reach a certain level before you are credited. My experience with the app downloads has been decent. They have been simple to complete and I received credit pretty fast.

If you tap the Work tab on the bottom of the screen, you will see a list of "jobs" that can be completed at various stores. According to the app description, these jobs can be checking into a store, photographing a product or display, or rating the quality of customer service during your visit. These types of tasks seem like they would be interesting, but I haven't seen anything in my app except for checking into a Walgreens.

The checking in job was easy enough. Once I finished my shopping and got in my car I was able to complete the job from the parking lot. It was just a few questions to answer and took around 30 seconds to complete.

Redeeming Your Acorns

As you complete tasks and jobs, you will accumulate acorns which can be redeemed for Paypal deposits. I normally like to wait until I receive a payment before reviewing an app or website, but it seems like this app will take quite a while.

The minimum payout is $10.00 USD which is 4,000 acorns. So each acorn is worth $0.0025 USD.
In order to redeem your acorns for cash, you must have a valid Paypal account. You can enter your e-mail that is linked to your Paypal account in the accounts page. If you click the Rewards tab in the bottom left then click Account, it will take you to where you set up your Paypal information.

How to start using Acorn Hunt

Acorn Hunt is available for iPhones on the App Store. It is also available on Google Play but the android version is called Rewardable. Rewardable is the same app as Acorn Hunt, but the offers may be a little different. I downloaded it with one of my androids and found that there were far more jobs available.

Is Acorn Hunt Worth Using?

I want to like this app. It has a nice looking and smooth interface, and the jobs look like they could be somewhat profitable. The main issue I have is there are never any jobs except for the one to check into a Walgreens. You may have more luck using the Android version, Rewardable, because it had a lot more jobs listed.

The app downloads are easy and I like that they credit quickly. The typical download pays 30-200 acorns which converts to $0.08-$0.50 per download which is somewhat decent.

I also don't like that earning enough acorns to cash out is slooooow. I would use it more if there were more jobs to do, or the minimum payout was lower.

Overall, I don't really find this app to be worth my time. You may find it to be more worthwhile if you use the Android version, or maybe its just my location that doesn't display a lot of jobs. But, because every person's experience may be different based on where they live, I would recommend giving it a try just to see what kinds of jobs are available near you. Also, like I mentioned, the app downloads are decent for some extra cash and they do credit quickly.

I'd love to have a broader review of how this app worked for others. Give it a try and let me know about your experience!
