CheckPoints App Review - Scan Items. Watch Videos. Earn Gift Cards.

Checkpoints App Review

Checkpoints is probably my favorite app I have tried so far. I've had a very good experience using it and it is pretty fun. There are multiple ways to earn using the app, as well as the website, and multiple redemption options.

With checkpoints you can earn points by:

Scanning items
Watching videos
Completing offers
Checking In

Where to sign up for Checkpoints

Checkpoints is available on iOS and Android. You can easily find it in the App Store or Google Play by searching for "Checkpoints". The iOS version is called CheckPoints #1 Rewards App and Free Barcode Scanner, and the Android version is listed as CheckPoints #1 Rewards App.

You can also visit the website and sign up by clicking here.

Use the Checkpoints referral code PocketJingles for an extra 50 point bonus when you sign up!

How to Use Checkpoints

After you install and sign up for Checkpoints, you will see a home page similar to the one above. This is the iOS version, but the Android version is very similar.

The Check In button allows you to check in to places nearby. When you tap it you will see a list of nearby stores.

If there is a points amount listed next to the retailer that means that you can go there and scan items. This is a very easy way to get a lot of points and you can do it while doing your usual grocery shopping (Or just stop in and scan on your way home).

When you are at the store of your choosing, just tap the store and you will see something like this:

The items available to scan change every so often but a lot of them stay for a while. The Caress soap, for example, has been on my list for the last month and a half. So, once you initially find the items in the store it is very fast to scan them the next time you visit.

When you find the item you are looking for, just tap the item and a bar code scanner will pop up.

There is no obligation to buy the item in order to receive the points. Just scan, and profit!

You can go to multiple stores to scan in one day, but if you have already scanned an item at one store, it will not let you scan it again at another store. The list of items refreshes every day, so you can go back the next day and scan again.

You may also notice that in the Check In section, if you scroll further down there are places with stars next to them. You can check into these places up to 10 times a day. No scanning is involved just tap on the place and check in. The places with the gold stars give 10 points for checking in, and the gray stars give 2 points. There is a waiting period of a few minutes between check ins.

On the homepage, there are also offer walls available where you can earn tokens. These tokens can be used for the slots or the scratch off which are in the rewards tab on the bottom right corner. Some of the offers are kind of spammy and time consuming but it is still worth checking each day because sometimes you can get a token just from watching a video or looking at a weekly circular ad. You can also pay 12 of your points to try the slots or scratch off, but it is a better idea to use the tokens so you don't lose all your points. I went a little crazy with the slots one day and lets just say, it ended badly haha. The Android version doesn't have the same offer walls as the iOS but it does have an offer wall where you can get points just for downloading and opening an app.

Checkpoints can also be used for passive income by watching videos. If you have an extra phone (or a few extra phones) you can just play the videos and earn points.

Just tap the Play All button and remember to check on it every so often because it will sometimes stop playing. If you are going to use multiple phones, Checkpoints doesn't allow multiple devices per account, but you can have one account per device.

Redemption Options

Now for the most exciting part, redeeming your points!

Checkpoints App Review

Checkpoints offers a bunch of redemption options. There are gift cards, airline miles, and even a few gadgets. There is no Paypal option, sadly.

Currently the Amazon gift card is the best value per point. The points needed for Amazon gift cards are:

$1 - 335 points
$10 - 3,350 points
$25 - 8,375 points

One of my favorite things about Checkpoints is that the gift cards arrive almost instantly. The first time you redeem it may take a little longer, but most of the times I have redeemed it has been in my e-mail as soon as I clicked the redeem button.

Conclusion

Checkpoints is a great app to earn some extra income. It is very easy to do and doesn't take a lot of time. It is one of the main apps that I use and I always look forward to checking it each day. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to earn extra cash in their spare time.
